Weather still lousy in central Europe

2024-02-23

Due to the lousy weather conditions, typical for this season, we still have way too much spare time and hence came up with a couple of new features.

New Features

Measurement data import

We have implemented an xlsx-importer for existing measurements. This allows e.g. old measurements or measurements you received from your check center to be read in as well as being backdated.

By this we give you the ability to compare them with more recent measurements that you already added to the platform and to analyse and understand the changes that might have been made earlier. Also, if you do have a laser that does not support Web Bluetooth API (e.g. from Bosch), this is a workaround to still use the advantages of we-measure.io

To perform the import, just create a new measurement and use the button to start the process.

Enhancement of measurement validation

We added some enhancements to validate your measurements to ensure they are not manipluated. A valid checksum is created if

  • your measurement was directly read into the application via a laser (not imported or manually changed)

  • a serial number is available for the wing

  • the production date of the wing was entered

If you want to provide proof of recent trimming to a potential buyer (via the button), this feature will help to show that the measurement was correctly done and not manipulated.

UI enhancements

We made the user interface again a bit more beautiful by removing drop-down menus and instead integrating the functionality in dialogs. This helps you to get the information you're looking for, right where you need it.

Also we re-styled the wing in measurement simulation and results view to look more like a real paraglider.

Experimental feature

For some, the standard way of measuring from the inner most A line to the stabilo before moving to the next row might not be the most practical way. Therefore, we added an experimental feature that allows you to either measure column-wise or per main line (section). We would like to hear your feedback on this, if you see it working well.

You will find the option to select this either on the Measurement start page or in the settings on the top of the measurement page.
